Cyprus is an EU country, but is still not a Schengen Member.

You can enter Albania if you have a valid, multiple-entry Schengen visa, and you have already used your visa to enter a Schengen state. You cannot stay longer than the validity period of your visa.

Bosnia and Herzegovina

You can enter Bosnia and Herzegovina with a valid, multiple-entry Schengen visa, and stay a maximum of 90 days in a 180-day period (as long as it is within the validity period of your Schengen visa).

Kosovo

You can enter Kosovo with a valid, multiple-entry Schengen visa and stay for a maximum period of 15 days.

North Macedonia

You can enter North Macedonia with a Schengen visa if the visa is multiple-entry and valid for at least five days after your intended departure from North Macedonia.

You can stay up to 15 days in each entry, as long as the total length does not exceed 90 days in a 180-day period.

Serbia

If you have a valid Schengen visa, you can stay in Serbia for up to 90 days, as long as it does not exceed the validity period of your Schengen visa.

Mexico

You can travel to Mexico for tourism, business, or transit for up to 180 days as long as you have a valid, multiple-entry Schengen visa, that you have already used to enter one of the Schengen states.

Colombia

You can be exempt from applying for a Colombian visa if you have a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa, and are a citizen of one of the following countries:

    • Cambodia
    • India
    • Nicaragua
    • Myanmar
    • People’s Republic of China
    • Thailand
    • Taiwan

At the time of entry to Colombia, your Schengen visa must be valid for at least another six months.

Countries Which Offer Facilitated Visa Options If You Have a Schengen Visa

If you have a valid Schengen visa, you can have a facilitated visa process in the following countries:

  • Türkiye (electronic visa)
  • Morocco (electronic visa)
  • Antigua and Barbuda (visa on arrival)
  • Dominican Republic (visa on arrival)

Türkiye

Citizens of the following countries who have a valid Schengen visa, may get a one-month, single-entry, electronic visa for Turkey through the online website:

  • Algeria (if you are between the ages of 15-18 and 35-65)
  • Bangladesh
  • Cape Verde
  • Egypt (if they travel to Turkey with Turkish Airlines or Egypt Air)
  • Equatorial Guinea
  • India
  • Iraq (if you are between the ages of 15 and 50)
  • Libya (if you are between the age of 16 and 45)
  • Nepal
  • Pakistan
  • Palestine
  • Philippines
  • Senegal
  • Sri Lanka
  • Vietnam
  • Yemen

There may be additional requirements for each of the countries. This will depend on the Turkish immigration authorities when you submit your application for the electronic visa.

Morocco

If you have a valid Schengen visa, you can apply for an electronic visa to visit Morocco. At the time of application, your Schengen visa must be valid for at least another 90 days.

Antigua and Barbuda

You can apply for a visa on arrival in Antigua and Barbuda if you have a valid Schengen visa.

Dominican Republic

If you have a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa, you can get a tourist card upon arrival to the Dominican Republic, if you are traveling for tourism purposes.

Although official websites of the countries listed claim they allow entry for Schengen visa holders, you should always directly check in with an embassy or another official source of the country you plan to visit, to ensure you will be allowed to enter. Sometimes, these rules are prone to change without warning.

Does Staying in These Countries Count Towards the 90/180 Days Limit?

The time you spend in non-Schengen countries that allow entry with a Schengen visa does not count towards the 90/180 days limit applicable to Schengen member states. Each country has its own rules regarding the duration of stay, and these are independent of the Schengen Zone regulations.

For instance:

  • If you visit Cyprus, you can stay up to 90 days in a 180-day period under their rules. This is separate from your 90/180-day Schengen visa allowance.
  • In Albania, you can stay only for the validity period of your visa, provided you have already entered a Schengen member state.
  • In Montenegro, you can stay for up to 30 days or until your visa expires, whichever is shorter.

However, the duration allowed in each of these countries does not impact the 90 days you are permitted to stay within the Schengen Area. When traveling, always verify the specific entry and duration rules of the country you plan to visit, as these can change without prior notice.
